Augmented Reality
To the layman, Augmented Reality is best described as digital content (such as animations, graphics and audio) that are overlaid in the real world when viewed through a mobile device.
It mixes fantasy with reality to create an experience for the viewer, which will literally blow their minds; immersing them in a real life environment while interacting with digital (and often very real looking) graphics that themselves then go on to react to the environment itself.
More technically, augmented reality can be described as a series of animated assets layered over a camera shooting real time. The assets themselves then interact with the environment that you are shooting on the camera itself and the viewer experiences these two realities interlaced with each other.
